Automotive Assembler / Fabricator

Details for the individual positions are below:


Composite Technician

Responsibilities include all levels of general composites fabrication using various processes involved in wet lay-up, prepreg lay-up, VARTM and RTM. Position is full-time.

Ideal candidates should be able to:

  • Laminate composite materials using wet lay-up processes, prepregs, VARTM
  • Cut plies and patterns in fabric and tape materials
  • Vacuum bag parts
  • Cure composite parts
  • Bond / assemble composite parts
  • Trim and drill composites
  • Sand, deburr and grind composites
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
  • Read component drawings
  • Perform mold preparation

Skills that are not required, but are a beneficial, include:

  • Painting and surface finishing of products
  • Machining composites and metals using a mill or lathe.
  • Perform basic dimensional inspection of parts produced
  • Work with curing ovens and thermocouples

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be a US citizen or legal US resident

  • Minimum 3 years in a composites manufacturing environment
  • Experience in laying up composite materials
  • Experience working with tools and molds for composite parts
  • Prior work with carbon fiber, fiber glass, Kevlar, etc.
  • Work with epoxy and similar resins
  • Bonding and assembly of composite assemblies
  • Able to use a variety of hand tools and shop equipment
  • Should own a comprehensive set of hand tools
  • Able to meet and perform skills/requirements of job and be available full-time

Automotive Assembler / Fabricator

Responsibilities include fabricating and assembling high performance replica automobiles. Position is full-time.

Ideal Candidates should be able to:

  • Install mechanical and electrical components and systems, such as steering and axle units; wire harnesses; instrument control panels; and brake systems
  • Position, fasten and fit together body subassemblies, doors, hoods, and trunk lids
  • Install glass, body trim, and lights on vehicle after final paint
  • Fasten seats, door paneling, carpeting, molding, and other trim into position
  • May apply precut and adhesive coated to vinyl upholstery and carpet kits
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge

Skills that are not required, but are a beneficial, include:

  • Ability to weld – MIG & TIG
  • Use band saw, cold cut saw, various cutting / machining equipment
  • Tube bending and drill press, grinders, lathes, mills
  • Experience with composite fabrication, paints, and other coatings

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be a US citizen or legal US resident

  • Minimum 3 years in a car fabrication/ assembly/repair environment
  • Ability to read and work to drawings, sketches & wiring diagrams
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Candidates must be able to pass a pulmonary function test necessary to wear a respirator
  • Able to meet and perform skills/requirements of job and be available full-time
